Frozen in time

Good news! Gary Shorb, CEO of Methodist Healthcare, assured the conference that negotiations were taking place to hold clergy insurance costs down.

Make stewardship a priority! Rick  Kirchoff’s motion passed.

Ballet Rejoice dancers illuminate “Lost in Wonder” on Sunday evening.

Pictures! We have pictures! Patsy and David Hilliard were only two who just happened to have pictures of new grandchildren available for viewing. Dave was also honored during one of the sessions with the newly established Nashville Area Order of St. Andrew. The Order was established to honor those pastors who were the “Andrew” for countless souls across the Memphis and Tennessee Annual Conferences. Also honored this year were: Justin Allen, Kevin Presley, Everett Roseberry, and Barry Henson.

Well done, you good and faithful servants in Christ’s holy church.

Passing the mantle from the retiring class to the newly ordained elders: Lonnie Royal Sr. received the mantle placed around his neck by Phillip McClure.

Annual Conference youth spent Tuesday afternoon canvassing Jackson neighborhoods for non-perishable food items. As the food arrived, it was quickly loaded into a large truck from RIFA (Regional InterFaith Association) for the Jackson Food Bank.

Don Thrasher brought the report on Safe Sanctuary policy.

Annual Conference is the perfect time to show off new babies to old friends.

The Tuesday afternoon workshops filled the rooms reserved on the Civic Center’s mezzanine. Above, Harrell Nation Jr. explored worship and stewardship.

Tim Carpenter brought a motion asking the Jurisdictional delegation to be open to inclusive episcopal leadership.
