Where can you buy nice blue jeans for a dollar a pair? 16 Cope
Road, Benton, Kentucky. The place is called The New
to You,
and its the hottest thing to hit missions and ministry since Methodist Circuit
Riders. How can they sell clothing so cheaply? Easy. The clothes are donated
by people in the community and then sold for low low prices to anyone who
wants to buy them. With no overhead, The New to You Shop brings in
over $100,000.00 a year. No, that isn't a typographical error. That's one
hundred thousand dollars. We use that income to pay the modest salaries of
those who work the store and to pay our Director of Program. Every other
dime beyond that is spent directly on the ministries of McUMC.
The store is open 5 days a week to anyone interested in browsing the racks. There's something for everyone, because we accept donations in almost every shape, size, kind, and type imaginable.
All your donations are tax-deductible and we provide reciepts upon request.
Donations can be left at the door most days. Our recieving hours are 8-4
on Monday through Saturday. Receipts for items left by the door will
not be issued.
Prices
Arranged by color and size, finding what you want is a matter of chance. Hopefully someone your size will have made the donation that you are shopping for! Here's a complete listing of our prices.
Youth
Young adults get nice clothes for low prices. Some of the hottest fashions look a little worn anyway. Why pay high prices with your friends at the mall when you can buy twenty outfits for what you might pay for one at a retail location? And just in case you are looking for name brands like American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch, or Tommy Hilfiger, don't worry. There are new donations made every day. Sooner or later, those name brands turn up and someone goes home with a a new designer outfit for less than five dollars! There are school clothes, play clothes, dress clothes, and even shoes that are just what you were looking for. And the prices cannot be beaten. Grab a box, empty your closet of clothes that you don't wear anymore, and make room for the new stuff. Bring that box in, and then shop a while. You'll be glad you did! Volunteers
Volunteers are never turned away, though. There's always room for people who are wanting to help out. If you'd like to volunteer at The New to You Shop just call 270 527-5147 or come by our 16 Cope Road location!
For more information on these and other aspects of your McUMC cooperative
ministry, contact Jerri Cross at 270 527-5147.
