• Where will the training be conducted?

  • In different locations within the Purchase Area depending on the general location of those in training

• How long does it take to be certified?

  • Approximately 3 months

• How long after certification until I receive a child?

  • After certification and when the referral of a child whose needs match your family's strengths

• What causes children to be placed in Foster Care?

  • They may be removed from their family of origin due to physical or mental abuse, neglect, or other situations in which the biological parent or family member was unable to provide for their child.

• Do I have to belong to a certain denomination to be a WKUMFS Foster Parent?

  • No.  The only requirements are that the home be a Christian-based home and willing to respect the child's own religious affiliation.
